Somebody decided to take on that WV project boat.

I had a nice visit with Dave and Neil last night as they packed up for Arrowhead. They were super generous with their time showing me their boats and sharing many experiences.

Thanks a bunch guys! I know much better what to look for in a project boat and motor.

Have fun at Arrowhead!

i was actually thinking about getting the Vagabond in Missouri that's listed on the site.... after getting more pictures from the owner.. the outside of the transom looks like it could have a good bit of corrosion.. I could be wrong and it might just be the way the pictures looked that he sent me... but from the bottom of the transom up about 4-5 inches.. all the way across... it looks like a good bit of pitting...maybe from salt water not sure...again I could be wrong.. i just wanted to let anyone know that was interested to take a good look first...

This book idea is a great idea!... maybe it's something we could talk Carey into producing :shhh:
Dave

Yeah, after she's done with the Model/Motor/Top speed spreadsheet. LOL

She's a busy girl... but I believe that the play is done, so expect these other projects soon...
Maybe she'll have a first draft for us to look over at Arrowhead!

Sorry, for the thread drift kmotawi, the Vagabond in Missouri looks like a great starting base, may want to consider.

Common sense has become so uncommon that I now consider it to be a super power.

This DR is priced fairly and is just up the road...

Not sure, exactly, what you are looking for, but I agree with Neil (Jabe) about that Ranger. Repairing the port side gunwale will be challenging. Looks like a tree fell on it.

Well, I confirmed that I knew where the ad pix were taken.

About 12 boats, some empty boat, equipment and car trailers sitting outside, but no Ranger....

The pix were taken about 15min from my house if anyones interested, I could take a look.... But only on Sat/Sun, working 3.5hrs east of home all week.
Money spent on boat restoration should be measured in Smiles and Pride

Seriously, welcome aboard. Do you have any idea of what you are looking for? This site is a tremendous resource of information and is filled with countless people that are eager to assist. Don't hesitate to ask any questions. I am really close to you, Milford, and feel free to contact me any time. Would be happy to talk with you about these boats. On the left of this site is the "Riveted Messages", just pPM me there.
